PHILIPPINE ASSOCIATION OF MEDICAL TECHNOLOGISTS - NEVADA, INC.
"To serve the community, the profession, and the person."
WHAT IS PAMET?
It is the acronym for the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists with nationwide chapters serving the professional and cultural needs of foreign-trained medical technologists.
ORIGINS OF PAMET-USA and PAMET-NEVADA
PAMET-USA is a national organization with the noble goal of unifying all Filipino medical technologists in the United States. It was born on September 1988 in Chicago, Illinois when three independent PAMET organizations (New York, New Jersey, and Chicago) decided to merge into one. Since then, ten more chapters have been formed: Northern California, Southern California,Connecticut, Hawaii, Texas, Washinton DC, Michigan, Virginia, Indiana, and Georgia. The governing body is the National Board with representation from all chapters. It convenes every two years, having the National Convention the even year, and the National Board Meeting, the odd year.
PAMET-USA was born out of the desire to serve the growing needs of our profession. It is a recognition that Filipinos are the biggest minority MT group and that we can and should have influence in the future directions of our profession.
PAMET-NEVADA started in the early nineties, but only on August 28,1999 when a group of medical technologists from Las Vegas Nevada finally formed a line-up of interim officers and were inducted in the presence of the PAMET-USA national officers.
